Windows 10 for PCs Build 10158 Visual Tour of New Features

Microsoft continues to improve stability and polish Windows 10. It’s been several weeks since we’ve seen a new build, and here’s a look at what’s new.

Windows 10 is set to launch on July 29th and Microsoft continues to improve stability and polish and refine the new UI. It’s been several weeks since we’ve seen an official new build, and here’s a look at what’s new.

Windows 10 Build 10158

Microsoft exec Gabe Aul announce this latest build today on the Blogging Windows site. At this point, all of the major new features have been added, and from now on, Windows Insiders will see stability and UI improvements as well as minor tweaks.

For example, in this build, like Windows 10 mobile build 10136, Microsoft’s new browser is branded as Microsoft Edge and no longer Project Spartan. It has received several new features, too.

Improvements like enabling a Home button, importing bookmarks from other browsers to Edge, new customization for the New Tab page, a dark theme (which was a top request), and a lot more.

Note that Microsoft Edge has a new app ID, and that will cause any of your favorites, cookies, and history items to be lost. So if you need to keep them, back them up before going through with the upgrade. According to Microsoft, you can save those items by doing the following the instruction on this page.

Other changes to note are that Cortana is in its final stage and integrates with Office 365. The Photos app has been updated with helpful new features. And if you’re a fan of the Snipping Tool (remember that?), it got a five-second delay feature.
